2020 was obviously a terrible year. The coronavirus and the murder of George Floyd followed by a summer of intense and long-overdue reckoning of systemic racism and police brutality in America.

When my creative director said he’d written a script explaining a brief history on the topic, a creative crew was more than willing to jump in and do what little we could using the skills we have - animation and storytelling.

This was a highly collaborative project - my favorite kind - the art direction was simple and bold, allowing for a speedier production to a 5+ minute animation. The scenes above were ones I animated. I learned so much about a really untold history of the long and lethal legacy of racism in this country by having the honor to participate in this project.
